IBTE Guangzhou conducted an in-depth visit to the Ningbo infant and toddler products industrial belt, and carried out a series of fruitful face-to-face exchanges with the local industry associations and enterprises.

In Ningbo, the IBTE Guangzhou delegation engaged in in-depth exchanges with members of the Ningbo Toy & Juvenile Products Association, exploring new strategies for industry development.

Ningbo is known as the capital of baby strollers and child car seats in China, as well as an important hub for the children's apparel industry. Meanwhile, the IBTE Guangzhou is a professional vertical B2B exhibition for the infant, juvenile and toy industries in South China. Leveraging the high birth rate, economic prosperity and vibrant population in the South China market, the IBTE Guangzhou is based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and connects with the entire country as well as the rapidly growing Southeast Asian markets with high birth rates. It provides a professional platform for information exchange and trade connections in the infant and toy industries.

This year, the export performance of Ningbo's baby strollers and child car seats has been eye-catching.

So far this year, the export performance of Ningbo's baby strollers and child car seats has been eye-catching once again. According to Ningbo Customs statistics, from January to April, the export value of baby strollers and child car seats from the Ningbo area reached 980 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of nearly 20%. The products were in hot demand in North America, Europe, and Asian countries. Specifically, exports to the North American market reached 250 million yuan, up 42.7%, and exports to the European market reached 460 million yuan, up 27.7%.

Baby strollers are a traditional export product of Ningbo. The main products include baby strollers, baby walkers, electric strollers, and children's bicycles. In recent years, Ningbo's stroller companies have upgraded their industry and continuously strengthened their capabilities in independent new product development. Based on their traditional products, they have focused on the market demands of different countries and regions, embarking on a vibrant "fast lane".

As cars have become more common in daily family life, child car seats have become the "new favorite" for protecting children's safe travel. In recent years, the child car seat industry has been developing rapidly in Ningbo. From January to April this year, the export value of Ningbo's child car seats reached 460 million yuan, up 17.9% year-on-year.

The overseas sales of baby strollers and child car seats could not be achieved without the help of Customs. Ningbo Customs has actively 

played its functional role, conducting foreign notification investigations and export recall traceability investigations. Relying on the (Cixi) Baby Stroller and Child Car Seat Technical Trade Measures Research and Evaluation Base, it has evaluated the TBT notifications of two countries, issued 100 trade and technical warning information, and organized enterprise training sessions multiple times, in order to alleviate or eliminate the impact of technical trade measures on the industry and promote the high-quality development of foreign trade.
